Climate Change and Source Water Protection

In a continuing effort to meet the challenges of climate change, AquaResource is excited to be part of a team investigating how climate change can be incorporated into Source Water Protection investigations. The objective of this project is to develop a Provincial guidance document that will outline how to incorporate climate change scenarios into Source Water Protection activities, specifically hydrologic/hydrogeologic investigations related to the Water Quantity Risk Assessment.  Areas of investigation will include climate change scenario selection, appropriate downscaling techniques, climate dataset modification, and appropriate hydrologic/hydrogeologic modeling approaches.

While focused on Source Water Protection, the guidance document will be useful for any water resource manager wishing to incorporate climate change into their water resource investigation/impact assessment.
