City of Guelph Tier 3 Model and Risk Assessment

AquaResource to investigate the sustainability of Guelph’s municipal water sources.
AquaResource is working with the City of Guelph to undertake a Source Protection Water Budget study that examines the threats placed on the municipal water supplies.  The Tier 3 study is a required study under the Province of Ontario’s Clean Water Act, and the study aims to evaluate the groundwater resources within the City of Guelph.  The objective of the study is to identify competing water takings, or potential land use developments that may pose a threat to the sustainability of the City’s current or future water supplies.  The study will involve a detailed characterization of the geologic and hydrogeologic environment around the wellfield area, and this understanding will then be incorporated into advanced groundwater and surface water models that will be applied to help guide the City in managing their municipal water supplies.  AquaResource is the lead consultant on this project and is pleased to be working with experienced geologists and hydrogeologists from Golder and Associates.
