Walkerton- Hanover Landfill Expansion Study

AquaResource is developing numerical modeling tools in support of the Hanover- Walkerton Landfill Expansion Study.

AquaResource is currently involved in characterizing and modeling the contaminant migration beneath the Walkerton- Hanover municipal landfill located in Bruce County, Ontario.  The study involves the development of a conceptual (hydro)geologic model, as well as a three-dimensional MODFLOW flow and contaminant transport model.  The study is underway as part of a larger municipal landfill Environmental Assessment study that also includes a flow and contaminant transport calibration and the application of the model to assess contaminant migration from the landfill under natural attenuation conditions.
