As a leader in Ontario's Source Water Protection activities, our technical team continues to grow and take-on challenging new projects. Current work includes:
- Provincial government ñ groundwater policy development regarding water budgets and risk assessments,
- Federal government ñ groundwater understanding and policy development regarding gravel pits and quarries,
- Municipal government ñ wellfield-scale studies investigating contaminant impact and treatment requirements,
- Conservation Authorities ñ surface water (HSPF/GAWSER) and groundwater (FEFLOW) regional water budget modeling studies for source water protection,
- Engineering firms ñ specialized groundwater modeling and data management services, including WEB-based GIS mapping (see: http://www.AquaMapper.com), and
- US Superfund site ñ 3D modeling of fractured rock environment. We are looking for capable individuals with experience in hydrology / hydrogeology, modeling and GIS/databases.
The Surface Water Modeling Specialist will be responsible for a wide variety of water resources-related activities including; GIS mapping of land use and hydrologic features, hydrologic model application and calibration, reporting and results presentation. The position will require frequent site visits to client offices in Southwestern Ontario. The successful candidate will work well independently and have a demonstrated career goal of applying hydrologic modeling technology in the water resources and environmental sectors.
The groundwater modeling specialist will be involved in leading-edge projects dealing with source water protection, water resource impact assessments, and contaminant hydrogeology. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in hydrogeology, numerical methods and water resources.
