FEFLOW Reseller

Recognizing the value of our advanced modeling tools to our clients, AquaResource has become a reseller of FEFLOW (Finite Element FLOW), a state-of-the-art water resource modeling tool.

FEFLOW is one of the most advanced commercial groundwater modeling tools available.  FEFLOW contains advanced capabilities for simulating groundwater flow and contaminant transport in porous or fractured media.  In addition, it provies capabilities for simulating surface water channel routing.  FEFLOW utilizes 3-D triangular prismatic or quadratic brick elements to faciliate an efficient refinement of calculations at points of interest.  Furthermore, implementation of the finite element technique for either saturated or variably-saturated flow provides a very stable simulation tool, even in the most challenging environment.  The implication of using this technique is that the modeller can focus efforts on calibrating and understanding the flow system rather than obtaining a stable solution.

FEFLOW is currently being used by leading consulting firms (AquaResource, SSPA, Golder, WHI, WNMC, GLL, CRA, Acres, WMC,...) and Conservation Authorities in Ontario, including Credit Valley Conservation (CVC), the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA), and Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA).  The ability to have the finite element mesh conform to river systems and focus calculations in those key locations provides greater accuracy in predicting groundwater / surface water interaction.  AquaResource is currently assisting CVC and GRCA in utilizing their detailed FEFLOW water budget models for industry-leading watershed characterization activities.

FEFLOW is unique in its capabilities to link to spatially distributed data from standard GIS tools.  This facilitates implementation of complex conceptual models, which are best managed within a comprehensive GIS environment.  Ask us how FEFLOW can help you implement source water protection water budget and risk assessment tools!
