CVC / GRCA Water Budgets
AquaResource is currently assisting both the Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) and the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) in watershed characterization studies.
The CVC is a leading Ontario Conservation Authority in developing surface and groundwater budgeting tools. Advanced groundwater modeling tools include a detailed FEFLOW watershed water budgeting model, have been developed over the past 6-years. AquaResource staff were instrumental in the hydrogeologic characterization of the watershed and development of the modeling tool and continue to be involved in its application and refinement. With this knowledgebase and our broad water resources background, AquaResource also assisted CVC with the characterization of surface and groundwater resources as part of source water protection initiatives.
The GRCA, winner of the 2000 Thiess Riverprize for best-managed watershed, has also developed leading-edge water budgeting tools. Recognizing our expertise in both the application of advanced water budget tools and our experiences within the watershed, AquaResource has recently assisted GRCA with the refinement and application of both its surface water (GAWSER) and groundwater (FEFLOW) water budgeting tools.
The techniques being applied in these industry-leading watersheds will shape the source water protection initiatives of tomorrow throughout Ontario. Ask us how we can bring these experiences to your watershed!
